Nassif Malouf _{Dragoman and Orientalist (1823-1865)}

This monograph gives an account of the life and publications of the Dragoman and Orientalist Nassif Mallouf, whom Jurji Zaidan counts as among the pre-eminent scholars of the nineteenth century. The appendices are a source for many documents relating to Nassif and his books, which appeared originally in Arabic, French, German, or Ottoman Turkish, and now in English translation.
